These are my go-to backcountry boots for day tours and even longer trips. I will personally sacrifice a bit of weight on the uphill to know I have good solid performance on the downhill, so while these are not maybe the super lightest boots on the market, I'd rather have the performance and trust my boots when I'm skiing! These boots are comfortable for all day touring, cruising around skiing with the kids on a mellow day, or bootpacking. I would recommend these boots for anyone who skis more than 60-70% of their time hiking and skiing the backcountry. They are less stiff than a downhill boot but perform great on the uphill and great in smooth snow and powder.
